Our life right now

This is my life at the moment...
...
...
...
Waiting, waiting, waiting.
And it's frustrating!

I have some what brought this up a couple of times like when I said we don't know when we are moving and when I told everyone about how I got accepted into a University.

Well here is the situation...
School starts in a little over a month, and we still haven't moved. We are waiting on Alex's job. Basically he is trying to get promoted, or I should say re-promoted (because he had the position but he chose to step down from that position almost a year ago), so that he can transfer, 1) because he doesn't like his current position and misses his old position, and 2) because his current position has no openings anywhere.

We had been told that in August they would review how Alex was doing and let him know if he can be promoted back to his old position.
Well, it's August.
And we haven't heard anything one way or the other.
There are also 0 openings in the district that the school I applied to is in. Because of this, I have applied to a few other places where there are job openings, and one that is only 45 minutes away so if I have to I can commute.
But I don't want to commute.
And we are hoping and praying that he gets this promotion.

Apparently we are supposed to know by the end of next week one way or the other if we are going to be able to transfer.
I am just frustrated because I can't register for classes until I know if and where we are moving to, so I know which school we are going to.

So for now I just have to keep praying and being patient.
It will all work out in the end.

New wreath + will we ever move?

I thought it was about time to update the wreath on our door.
The old one was simple enough that it could have been used all year long, but I wanted something with a little be more of a summer feel, so I just made a new one.
I loved the way it turned out!

The G in the middle isn't attached so I can hang my wreath with or without it. I just like the little personal touch it adds to the front of our home.

Maybe this is my way of adding flowers to the outside of our house that I don't actually have to take care of! I want to plant lots of flowers, but I don't even know how long we will be living in our current home so I don't want to waste all the time and effort to plant everything, and then find out I am moving in a month and have to dig everything back up.

For those unaware, I got accepted into a school that is about 2 and a half hours away from our current hometown. Which means we will have to move. Or I should say that we are trying to move. It is all up in the air right now because we [and by we I mostly mean Alex] are trying to transfer our jobs and there is no definite answers yet.If all else fails I will just go to a university near by, but we are really hoping for a change of scenery.

I feel so unsettled because I have no idea which direction life is going to take us, and I don't want to be disappointed with the outcome. I'm just trying to be at peace, knowing that God has everything under control.

I just want some answers.
Oh well. We will just have to wait and see.

Dinning room table #2

As promised, I am actually posting pictures of the table we made for one of my best friends. She moved into her first place this summer and I wanted to do something nice as a little house warming gift, so I told her I would build her a coffee table. Which then turned into a dinning room table as well when she told me her budget for a table was 200 bucks! Probably reasonable, but I just couldn't sit and watch her spend that much when I could make her a table for less than half the price. So we made a deal and she paid for supplies and we built the table. Had I know that it was going to take us 6 months to finish (due entirely to laziness and busy weekends) I probably would have kept my mouth shut, because she would have had a table a long time ago. It also turn out a little smaller than we had planned because we changed the style of the legs and forgot to make new measurements. Eeek, we just keep learning with each project. Eventually we will have a successful building story... at least I really hope so.

It looks so much better than the table we built for ourselves, it was really hard to give it up. We are now planning on stripping the stain off of our own table and trying to do this grayish stain that I am falling in love with.

I am kicking myself right now because I forgot to take a picture of her coffee table after it was finished, but this is what it looked like pre sanding and staining.

And after all this building, I think we decided our next car needs to be a truck or SUV because this...

... is getting a little old.

Bigger and better things

I haven't been blogging about any of my project lately, but don't worry there are definitely some coming in the near future. Our dining room table is finally finished. It has been a long process, and my advise to others is to avoid building projects in an apartment unless you have a good amount of covered outdoor space. To remedy that, we went out and got ourselves a garage. Meaning, we moved! We are so excited about our new home. Here is a sneak peak...

I'm loving all the natural light that this place gets! All of the walls are white, which is fine with me. After living with our off white walls and horrible lighting this feels like a breath of fresh air. We will be building a new headboard soon and the one we are using currently will be going in our soon to be guest bedroom/ my "office." I'm finally going to get a chance to work on some of the things I love. :)
