Tampons and Birthday parties

I just spent the last half hour trying to get my internet to work.
I was just starting to think that maybe it was a good thing it wasn't working when I finally figured out what the problem was and fixed it.
Lucky for you guys I can now spend the next hour writing and reading your blogs!
Unlucky for me I will now be horribly unproductive for the rest of the day.

I have to tell you guys about something embarrassing that happened to me last night.
It was one of those moments when you realize how much easier life might be if you weren't living with a guy.
Although it would be much less interesting and enjoyable.
Last night Alex was working with one of his recording clients when I got home from work.
{For those of you that don't know my husband is an audio engineer in his free time, meaning he does recording for bands and cool stuff like that in a spare room in our house.}
I got inside and just vegged in front of my computer for a little bit, when I noticed the giant box of tampons that I had bought on Tuesday sitting out on the coffee table.
Which really wouldn't have been that big of a deal if Alex didn't have a client over.
I figured they probably hadn't come into the living room at all so the guy probably hadn't seen it.
When Alex was done with his recording session I said, "You guys didn't come into the living room, right?"
Alex- "Yeah, we did..."
Me- "Seriously...?"
Alex- "Yes, why?"
Me- "Do you not see the huge box of tampons??"
Alex- "OH!.... whoops... I'm pretty sure he didn't notice."

Right... the huge white box with pictures of tampons all over it, which was the absolute only thing on our entire coffee table, went completely unnoticed.
Also there may or may not have been a pair of my underwear on the floor in our bathroom.
At least the guy spared me my dignity and didn't say anything about them.
I think I need to be home at all times when anyone is coming into my house so I can make sure all the unmentionables are cleaned up.
Or maybe I need to be a cleaner person so things like this don't happen!

Moving on to less embarrassing topics... or maybe more, depending on my dancing skills.
I forgot to tell you guys about my weekend!
Which was pretty much amazing!
Remember how I told you that some of my friends came into town from Washington to celebrate their birthdays?
Well it was probably the most fun weekend I have had maybe ever.
I'll let the pictures from my phone speak for themselves.

It was such a good weekend!!
Happy Birthday Sara!!
Thank you for being such an amazing friend!
My life has truly been blessed by our friendship and I'm so grateful to know you!
And, you are seriously gorgeous!!!

Alright, I'm out to catch up on some of my blog reading.
Love you guys!

Some instagrams and a weekend recap

Last Thursday morning I left for a nice little vacation with my in-laws.
It was a lot of fun. We stayed in a house near Pinehollow Lake/Reservoir out in eastern Oregon.
If you have ever come to Oregon you should really explore eastern Oregon a bit, it is gorgeous out there!

Here are some intagrams/ pictures I took while we were gone.
And if you have instagram be sure to find me @tanyagrasley!

Tanning with my little SIL

I had two goals for this summer, the first was to get in better shape, and the second was to get a tan...
Thanks to this weekend I am well on my way to the tan goal!
BTW, the super tan girl on the right is not me.
She also kept saying how white she was all weekend... apparently she was blinded by my whiteness to see properly.

Hanging out by the lake.
My in-laws brought their family dog, Sammy, who is probably one of the cutest golden retrievers I've ever met.
Alex playing with Sammy.

My MIL getting shakin' on by Sammy.

And then we had a beautiful drive home.

Now I just need a few days to recover from my vacation,
and to heal this nasty little sunburn I was left with!

Weekend camping trip

This weekend Alex and I went camping with some of our amazing friends Sara and Collin. It was such a fun relaxing weekend.

At least up until 3am Sunday morning when I woke up feeling horrible. During a long walk to the bathroom I threw up in our neighbors yards... not fun! Unfortunately we had to come home a day early. Now, after several hours of not working on homework and hardly being able to keep my eyes open, I finally feel a bit better.

Lots of traffic on the way up. Shocker, huh?

On saturday we spent the afternoon oystering... is that what you call it? Clamming? Well whatever it was, we did it.

And I have to confess to you guys something...
I HATE BARNACLES!!
Feel free to call it a phobia. I don't care.
I. HATE. THEM.
This may seem a little strange, but I think they are the most disgusting thing ever and they literally make me want to vomit. Honestly, just thinking about them makes me sick to my stomach. So I basically had a heart attack when we went to meet our friends for our clamming/oystering adventure and I found my self COMPLETELY surrounded by barnacles.

Maybe why I ended up throwing up later that evening? Probably from my torturous barnacle dreams? Probably.

How could anyone not find these things absolutely repulsive??
I will never understand.

Well... now that I have made myself sick by looking at this picture. I've gotta go.

Weekend (through tuesday) in review

My weekend basically consisted of a lot of reading and homework. We did lay out in the sun for some time on Sunday while I worked. It was beautiful out!
I got some good running in.
It was great.

Then early monday morning at about 4 am I woke up with some not so pleasant pain.
I took like a million tums because I thought it might be heart burn...
{Not sure heart burn ever feels like you are going to die}
Before I left for work the pain went away and I thought it might just be hunger pains.
Then the pain came back.
During work.
I stayed for my whole shift, because I was off at 1:30.
Came home.
My mom freaked out on me and told me to call the doctor.
I called the doctor.
They couldn't get me in until tomorrow at 2.
The pain went away, I figured I was fine.
{It is hard to remember how bad the pain is during the non-painful times}
After dinner the pain came back,
but I had lots of homework due yesterday so I just kept truckin through the pain.
All while my husband was trying to convince me to go to the hospital.
I'm stubborn.
I said I was fine.
{I hate the doctor, and the hospital}
I finished all of my homework.
Went to bed...
in pain.
Woke up, thought I was fine.
Took a shower.
Pain came back with vengeance.
Call the doctor.
Called in sick to work
Went to the doctor.
Doctor did some tests...

There are no results yet. I still have to go in for an ultrasound on Thursday morning. There is a possibility it could be gallstones, we are checking into it. For now I am just truckin through my episodes of pain, and God willing it wont get so bad that I need to go to the ER. If it is gallstones they said that eating fatty foods will cause the pain.

Basically I can't eat anything  with fat  until after my ultrasound.

I'll keep you guys posted. I'm praying that I don't have gallstones, because most of the time they want to take out your gallbladder if this happens. I'm getting some heat from different people about whether or not I should actually allow them to take out my gallbladder {if it is gallstones, mind you}. All I know is that if this pain gets worse than it already has gotten, I'm not sure I would resist any form of relief.

Anyways, have a great week guys! Hopefully I'll be back to write more later!

Weekend Recap

So, today is my first day starting my 20 hour schedule. I might get a little spoiled having all the time to do whatever I want! But I think it will be good for me.

Alex has been recording the last few Sundays, so I asked him to take this Sunday off because I wanted to be able to spend the whole weekend together. Especially since my new schedule requires a lot more Saturday shifts.

Our weekend started with some sleeping in... Mostly on Alex's part.
When he woke up and asked me why I was taking pictures of him, I told him I was just "documenting our weekend", which of course meant "I'm going to post this in a blog later".  He may or may not have been thrilled about that.

Then we got up and headed to Corvallis, which is 45 minutes south west of us.
We are most likely moving there so I can go to school, and we are considering buying a house. There are no definite plans, and we probably can't find anything in our price range. The problem with Corvallis is that it is a college town and we could get a way bigger/better house if we buy rather than rent, because rent is so high there. Plus, since it is a college town, it would be easy to rent out if we decide we want to move. But this place was not our future home.

It looked really cute in all of the pictures posted online, but when we got there, we realized that they had taken all the pictures with a wide angle lens and everything looked way bigger than it actually was. plus they left out pictures of the horrible job they did remodling. I'm not even going to bother posting the pictures I took. It was a dud.

Luckily on the way home, we drove past this beautiful field, and decided to be spontaneous and stop for pictures. So it wasn't a complete waste of a drive.

Then on Sunday we spent most of the day running back and forth to Lowe's to get stuff for a couple of dressers that we are painting. But I'll save those pictures for later. ;)

I hope everyone has a great week!
