Blogging about blogging | and recent iphone pics

I was just reading through some of my past blogs and realized that I miss this place. For awhile I've thought, eh I'm kind of bored with blogging. I was having a little pity party and thought my blog sucks, I have nothing good to share, I'm a terrible writer, I don't even like reading my own posts.
I know, those are all super terrible negative thoughts. I don't like to admit I think things like that, but I just have to be real (obviously, that is my number one motto in life).

But then I was looking through my blog today and thought, hey I like sharing these things. I like looking back and reading the words I had to say at different times in my life. I miss writing things that someone somewhere might like to hear. And heck, I really miss my blog friends. I know when one of you stops blogging for awhile I wonder what is going on in your lives and I religiously check to see if you have updated your blog. Ok not like every day, but whenever I think of it, or whenever I'm out reading blogs.

So I think I might be back for a little while. We shall see.

I'm sharing some of my recent iphone photos. Most of these pictures are of me because, well, I'm with myself most of the time.

1. Shameless selfie
2. Notes I find on mirrors around campus
3. My baby sunflower I got after finishing an experiment in Bio
4. A monday.
5. Before getting my hair done
6. After. (almost the same, minus the grays and dead ends)

Hopefully you guys will see me again soon.

How to be more photogenic

For those of you coming over from Nicole's blog, thanks for stopping by! I'm excited to see you here in my neck of the woods.

For everyone else, I am guest posting over at The Tape Diaries today all about how to be a little more photogenic. I've learned a lot about this ever since I started taking pictures for fashion posts. Looking good is not an easy task, let me tell you! It takes hard work. So, if you are tired of always being annoyed because your pictures don't turn out quite the way you have pictured them, head on over to Nicole's blog and where I am sharing a few of my secrets!

Last camping trip

Last weekend I went camping with my in-laws and their church and had a really great time! I always love our vacations together. They are very relaxing, and there is usually a lot of laughing involved also.
I know there are no pictures of people. I'm pretty bad at remembering to take pictures of people.
When I am camping I especially feel like people don't want a camera in there un-showered-camp-face.

I spent lots of time in and around the water.
Listening to Alex and his sister having morning practice sessions for a little worship night we had on Saturday.
Hanging out with animals.
Feeding chips to chipmunks (and getting right up in their face to take some pictures).
Hanging out by the fire on some of the most gorgeous evenings I have ever seen in Oregon.

Why doesn't vacation last forever?

iPhone Photography

So I know that the pictures I post usually suck because, lets face it, I'm not a photographer. But For Christmas my husband got me something pretty awesome, lenses for my iphone. :)
Via photojojo.com
These were actually on my wish list on pinterest and my husband tracked them down and ordered them for me. Awesome. They are a lot cheaper than buying a new camera, and I don't want to waste money on another camera unless it is an awesome one. Here are a few of my pictures I thought turned out pretty cool.
Hand stamped candles, Macro lens

Husband's eye, Macro lens

Hand stamped candles I made for presents, Macro lens

Profile of my husbands eye, Macro lens

Name tag for my sister-in-law's present, Macro lens

Lemon sugar scrub I made for one of my presents, Wide angle lens

Sewing Machine Macro lens

Sister-in-law's present, Macro lens
These are all unedited, so I think they turned out pretty good, considering I'm not a photographer, and I was using my iphone. Obviously the Macro lens is my favorite, I will need to play around with them a little more and see what results I can get from my telephoto and wide angle lenses. Maybe now I can take some pictures that are actually decent to look at... We'll see.
